The company

Its history includes Con Belisa, based on Federico García Lorca; El llanto; La vampira del Raval; and Romance de Curro el Palmo. Its productions have earned the love of audiences and recognition from critics on international stages and at festivals.
Con Belisa received two ACE Award nominations in New York: for best direction and best set design in visiting theatre. In 2013, Albert Guinovart received the Max Award for Best Musical Composition for a Stage Production for La vampira del Raval.

A dialogue between poetry, music and dance based on Federico García Lorca’s elegy. Flamenco singing, piano and movement evoke loss and memory in the flamenco Barcelona of the first half of the twentieth century.

Serrat’s song becomes a flamenco musical about an impossible love. In post-war Barcelona, among the shacks of Montjuïc and the tablaos of the Paral·lel, Curro dreams of Merceditas.

A tragicomic musical set in the Raval in 1912. Enriqueta Martí’s story becomes a theatrical portrait of poverty, hypocrisy and power, with music, dark humour and puppets.

He began his directing career in 1982 with Edward Albee’s Zoo Story and received the Premi Adrià Gual that same year for the project La desaparició de Wendy.
In 2005 he founded Octubre Teatral with Josep Arias Velasco. The company brings together his approach to literature, music and the power of stage imagery.
The company’s archive
Con Belisa began the journey at the Espai Brossa in 2005. The archive also preserves Gusev, the original repertoire productions and their photographs.
